PHASE 3 NOW UNDERWAY

Effective Feb. 17, 2026.

Phase 3 landside demolition for the new Commercial Core has commenced.

Effective Jan. 5, 2026.

In preparation for the start of Phase 3 landside demolition, a new construction fence line has been set. This perimeter provides clear demarcation for the next phase of construction and enhanced safety to the public from the new work zone while maintaining public boardwalk access and boater dock access.

In addition, the transplanting and boxing of substantial tree and shrub specimens has been completed. These mature plants will be nurtured until they are replanted into the final landscape plan.

The Marina at Dana Point

On August 4, 2022, The Marina at Dana Point began construction on the new marina featuring brand-new docks and slips to be completed in a total of 15 strategic phases.

On July 1, 2025, the final phase of the West Basin Island officially opened for occupancy, marking the completion of 8 phases (50%) and 1,115 brand-new slips.

Phase 9 opened for occupancy on October 1, 2025, including Dock of the Harvest Lantern and Dock of the Lavender Lantern. Phase 10 began demolition October 6, 2025, and the new Dock of the Sage Lantern and Dock of the Admiral Lantern opened for occupancy at year end.

In addition, the Fuel Dock Tank Replacement project commenced in December 2025 to upgrade equipment in-line with the latest safety and environmental compliance standards.

Phase 11 demolition began mid-January, and new dock construction includes dock G through J in East Basin Island, currently anticipated to open for occupancy in late Spring 2026.

The Marina at Dana Point has reached 2/3 completion of the 15-phase revitalization.

Restaurants & Retail

Phase 1 and 2 of the Commercial Core construction consists of the three-tiered parking structure, underground utility infrastructure and brand-new harbor entrance at the corner of Golden Lantern and Dana Point Harbor Drive. These concurrent phases began March 1, 2024 with completion July 2, 2025.

With the official completion of the first two phases, demolition for Phase 3 of the Commercial Core began February 2026, which will include over 100,000 sf of new development along the waterfront.

By facilitating the project in phases, the harbor will remain open to public access throughout the entire construction process, with as little impact on parking, businesses and common areas as possible.
